Free SSL
We believe that security should be a right on the Internet and not a privilege. It costs very little to setup and maintain an SSL certificate store, but like most things technical, the whole process is shrouded in mystery in order to tease money out of people. Many companies charge vast sums of money for security certificates claiming that their's are somehow better. In order for them to work across multiple platforms there have to be standards associated with SSL certificates - and there are, the ITU X.50x standards. We disagree with the practise of misleading people.
So, we set up a FREE SSL certificate authority (CA) which is open to anyone to register and create as many personal AND server certificates as they need. Because PKI is a complicated subject we have created a micro-site to our CA which you can access here.
SSL certificates can be used to secure web servers and personal communication. Most e-mail clients nowadays support certificates and with the spammers getting cleverer day by day it's good to know where your messages are coming from. Certificates allow you to verify the sender of a message as well as encrypting your messages for extra security.
